JMA is honoured to have had Hospitality Action as a charity partner since 2020. From as far back as 1837, this outstanding organisation has provided current and former workers in the UK hospitality industry with invaluable financial, physical and psychological support during times of adversity.

Whatever someone’s job in the industry and irrespective of the challenges they face – from physical illness or mental health issues to financial difficulty, family problems to addiction – Hospitality Action offers crucial assistance to help people get back on their feet. And if, or when, it’s no longer possible for someone to work, Hospitality Action helps prepare people for the next phase of their life.

Since 2020 the organisation has:

  • Supported over 200,000 workers via its various service provisions including Grant Giving, Employee Assistance Programme, Advisory Services, Helplines and Golden Friends retiree outreach scheme
  • Awarded 10,000 Hardship Grants valued at over £3m
  • Answered more than 27,000 Helpline calls
  • Delivered 7,000 counselling sessions
  • Issued just over 1,000 Winter Fuel Grants to alleviate extreme fuel poverty in the coldest winter months

Mark Lewis, CEO of the charity, comments: “At Hospitality Action, we provide a safety net and play a vital role in fostering compassion, solidarity and sector engagement to support those most in need. We are grateful to all those who support our endeavours and look forward to continuing to make a difference in 2024 and beyond.”
