JMA has partnered with 10,000 Black Interns for the past three years and this summer, we had the great privilege of hosting Tabitha “Tabi” Oyewumi. Tabi is a student of Psychology at King’s College London, who has just finished her second year.
Over a six-week period, Tabi immersed herself in the executive search process and gained a deeper understanding of the core values that drives JMA’s success. She conducted research on enhancing automation and leveraging AI to improve workflows. This hands-on experience has provided Tabi insights into the strategic aspects of talent acquisition: building on her knowledge of organizational psychology.
When asked about her experience, Tabi shared, “Being JMA’s third intern through the 10,000 Black Interns programme, I am part of a charity initiative that offers ambitious, talented individuals with Afro-Caribbean heritage paid opportunities across over 20 industry sectors. This internship, my first experience working in a corporate setting, has helped provide a strong foundation for a future career in a people-facing role. My internship at JMA has been an enriching experience, bridging my academic background in psychology with practical skills in executive search and data management. The analytical and interpersonal skills developed at JMA will undoubtedly play a crucial role in my future endeavours.”
A big thank you to Tabi for her work this summer as we almost certainly learned more from her than she did from us!
